Weight Loss

Weigh in #1

I reluctantly stepped on the scale a few weeks ago because I am trying to lose weight and become healthier. I want to actually know if what I am doing is working. The Wyze scale records your weight along with other measurements like your BMI, Body fat %, Muscle mass %, etc. My numbers were higher than I realized/expected so I was excited to get started with working out and eating better to get back on that scale and see if anything had improved.

SPOILER ALERT, I didn’t lose any weight. One of the weigh in days, I actually gained weight… what the hell, man! It is so easy to hate on yourself when you see that there was no improvement. And I was, in fact mean to myself as I stepped off the scale. Not gonna lie, I got pretty defeated. But for what, because I didn’t lose 2 pounds? So what, Morgan. I need to remember that the scale does not measure my worth. Those 2 pounds could have made me short-term happy, but disappointment was okay too. It helped me to pinpoint what I could better this coming week. Whether that’s motivation, being mindful of my portions, working out more etc. The fact of the matter is that I didn’t lose any weight and that is okay.

Peace, Love,
